A Step-by-step Guide To Automatically Schedule Your Posts in WordPress

For a blogger who wants to create a following for his or her website, fresh content plays a major role to make this happen. It is important to post blogs on a regular basis to keep momentum. However, there are days writing content is not possible and scheduling blog posts are the best option. Did you know that in WordPress, you can automatically schedule the time and day your blogs get posted?

By using the Publish to Schedule plug-in, you can have fresh content published on a fixed schedule. This way, you don’t have to worry about losing potential readers and keep the loyal ones updated with your blog.

Here are the simple steps to schedule your posts on your WordPress blog:

  1. Set your Publish to Schedule plug-in.

If you have written a series of posts in one sitting and intend to publish them on schedule, your first order of business is to install the needed plug-in. In order to do this, log in to your admin panel. From your dashboard screen, choose ‘Settings”. You will then see the left navigation panel. Just in the middle, you will read “Plug-ins”. Hover over this and you will be given options. Click on the “Add New” option on the Plug-ins panel and you will see a new window, “Add Plug-ins” on the screen. Next, search for the “Publish to Schedule” plug-in.

  2. Install the plug-in.

By clicking on “Install Now”, the Publish to Schedule plug-in will be installed on your website.

  3. Configure your plug-in.

After step #2, click on Settings and this time, you will already see the added plug-in. Click on it to start with your configuration. The settings page will appear so you can start scheduling. For the days you do not want to publish anything, just type in “0”. Conversely, on the days you want to post something, you specify the amount of content you want to post on a given day. You also have the option to choose the intervals of your scheduled posts in a particular day, with the default being 24 hours.

Note: Once the plug-in has done the scheduling, you will have the option to see the time and dates your posts are scheduled to be published or just choose the option where you can just see the calculated auto schedule date for the post. This depends on your preference.

  4. Save.

Once you are done with the first 3 three steps, you need to hit “Save” for your plug-ins settings.

See if this works!

Now that you are all set, it is time to check if you have successfully installed the Publish to Schedule plug-in and test if it works. Create a new post or make changes to an already existing post and republish it again on a different day and time.
On the Publish section, you will notice a change in the Meta-box that says Publish. It will appear as “Pub. to Schedule”. And if you have opted to see any information on the publishing of the posts in the plug-in settings, you will see the time and date of the publication of your post.

By following this step-by-step guide, you can now schedule your posts automatically and ensure your readers will be reading them on your specified publishing dates! Still need help, contact us today!
